About Us

Who We are?

Trees are portrayed in many African myths and stories as ancestral symbols of wisdom, custom and authority. Apart from their essential role as the lungs of the planet, Trees have a long history of serving as a preferred meeting venue for many cultures. They provide a natural and serene setting for people to gather and connect, allowing for a sense of community and shared experience. Throughout history, trees have served as sites for important ceremonies, meetings, and gatherings, often
serving as a symbol of unity and cooperation.

The name “Idi-igiose” originates from the Yoruba language of southwestern Nigeria. It literally translates to “Under the Baobab Tree”. To us,” Under this baobab Tree” is the meeting point or place where “we” sit down with stakeholders to device solutions to empowerment and development challenges in our communities. People empowerment & development are a fundamental requirement for achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth and social progress. Empowerment and development of people is also essential to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

Empowering people to us, means ensuring they have the knowledge, skills, resources, and opportunities they need to participate fully in economic, social, and political life. This includes access to education, healthcare, clean water, and sanitation, as well as opportunities for decent work, economic growth, and participation in democratic processes. We advocate a global response to solving these challenges and welcome your participation.
