The name “Idi-igiose” originates from the Yoruba language of southwestern Nigeria. It literally translates to “Under the Baobab Tree”. To us,” Under this baobab Tree” is the meeting point or place where “we” sit down with stakeholders to device solutions to empowerment and development challenges in our communities.
People empowerment & development are a fundamental requirement for achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth and social progress. Empowerment and development of people is also essential to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.
Our values can be summed up in the acronym “PINT”, which represents what we
uphold both within and outside our organizational structure.
Empowering people to us, means ensuring they have the knowledge,
skills, resources, and opportunities they need to participate fully in economic,
social, and political life.
