Dear readers,
Today marks a significant milestone at the Idi-Igiose People Empowerment and Development Foundation (IPEAD) as we unveil a transformative addition to our roster of programs – the “Rise and Rebuild” Empowerment Initiative.
Introduction:
In our unwavering pursuit of empowerment and positive change, we are delighted to introduce the “Rise and Rebuild” Empowerment Initiative. This innovative program has been carefully crafted to provide essential support and resources to deportees upon their return to Nigeria, aiming to enable them to overcome challenges, rebuild their lives, and make
meaningful contributions to their communities. Through this initiative, we seek to bridge the gap between adversity and opportunity, offering a pathway towards a brighter future for deportees who often face complex challenges upon
their return to their homeland.
Empowering Deportees:
Deportation can be an overwhelming and disorienting experience, leaving individuals in unfamiliar territory without adequate resources or a support network. The “Rise and Rebuild” Initiative addresses these challenges head-on by focusing on key areas that are essential for empowerment and reintegration.
Compassion and Orientation:
Our program kicks off with comprehensive orientation sessions designed to familiarize deportees with the available resources and the goals of the initiative. By extending a compassionate hand during this critical phase, we aim to create a sense of belonging and provide a foundation for their journey to empowerment.
Advocacy and Support:
Deportees often face unique challenges in terms of integration, rights, and dignity. We are dedicated to being their voice and advocate, raising awareness about their struggles and working towards solutions that protect their well-being and rights.
Reintegration and Well-being:
Fostering psychological well-being and social integration is central to the “Rise and Rebuild” program. We provide a safe space for deportees to rebuild their self-esteem, connect with peers, and establish connections that contribute to their overall emotional health.
Empowerment and Skill Development:
At IPEAD, we believe in the power of education and skill enhancement as a means of empowerment. Through vocational training, entrepreneurship workshops, and employment placement support, we equip deportees with the tools they need to rebuild their lives with confidence.
Creating Sustainable Livelihoods:
The ultimate goal of the “Rise and Rebuild” Initiative is to help deportees establish sustainable livelihoods. By offering vocational training, entrepreneurship development, and employment placement, we empower them to stand on their own feet and contribute positively to their communities.
Moving Forward:
As we embark on this new chapter with the “Rise and Rebuild” Empowerment Initiative, we remain committed to our mission of fostering positive change and empowerment within our communities. Together, we can create a brighter future for deportees, one where challenges are met with resilience and opportunities for growth.
At IPEAD, we stand firm in our belief that everyone deserves a chance to rise, rebuild, and thrive. Join us on this journey of transformation and empowerment.
Sincerely
Bennie Efemena Ben-Iriri
